Brookie got her 2nd haircut - at Sharkey's Cool Cuts. She needed it to be about two inches shorter to make it look a little fuller. This time they actually shampooed her hair which she was not fond of at all. But the haircut itself was fun - she got to sit in the pink Barbie Jeep - which is the coolest car (they said even the boys want to sit in it) and after it was all done she got a mini manicure - they take them in to the back to the dress up room and paint their nails, with glittler too - AHHHHHH a Spa Day! Must be nice my 2yr old gets them and I dont - hmmmmm I see a problem.

I have been waiting for this day for a long time - BACK TO SCHOOL - YEAH! Now Brooklyn and I can get back in to a routine - the summer is always so crazy and she gets all thrown with naps and everything. Plus maybe I can get a little bit of peace and quiet. Anyway both of the kids started new schools today. Kamdon not only started a new school but he also went from middle to high school - he is a McKinney North Bulldog Freshman this year and looking forward to it. He is getting to participate in their golf class (which Frisco ISD didn't have) and possibly play on the team someday - look out everyone he will be hitting anyone and everyone up to take him golfing on the weekends. Bailey is a little bit more apprehensive about a new school and not knowing anyone - but anyone who knows Bailey - it won't take her long and she will be the leader of HER pack. Unfortunately she will not be cheering this year because she didn't act on it when the opportunity was there (and is now regretting her choice - but maybe next year) - she will just have to practice her tumbling and make sure she is ready. She will be attending Cockrill Middle School - a brand new opening which makes it a little bit easier for her because she won't be the only one trying to learn her way around everyone else will be too. They are growing up so fast before you know it they will both be off to college too and leaving me, Scott and Brooklyn all alone - I am dreading the day. I wan't Blane to come home - it has only been a weekend and I already miss him - his room is so empty. So hopefully everything goes well today and they all LOVE their new schools and classes.

And now that I have learned the different cake decorating techniques I look for any and every reason to make a cake so here is my this year's "Back to School" cake - in case you cant figure it out it's a chalkboard - heehee!

Today we packed up the Pilot and Blane's car FULL and took him and all his belongings and dropped them at his new temporary home - Ferguson Hall at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, TX. He is rooming with one of his best friends Cole Cantu and they are both very excited about what college has to offer. We were there for about two hours getting his room all set up, beds made etc. (if I didn't do it for him the bed may not have gotten made all semester). The rooms are pretty small but he has all of the essentials - his 36" flat screen TV, a DVD player, his Mac laptop and his Xbox 360. And for a guy that's all they really need to feel at home. We did however get the broken blind fixed and added an area rug. Classes start on Monday so he has the weekend to get settled and to try and find a part time job (has to make those car payments). It wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be to leave - I am so excited for him seeing that I missed out on the whole experience and had him instead but I know when I go home to his empty room and he isn't rolling in and out I am REALLY going to miss him. We are very close and always have been - we talk about pretty much everything (some things I don't want to know though). I am so proud of the person that he has become with his well rounded personality, GREAT outlook on life and his sense of strong will always choosing right from wrong and not getting pulled in to peer pressure. I just hope the rest of the kids look up to him as a role model and follow in his footsteps (with a little bit better grades - heehee - love ya Blane). He has a full load of classes for the fall and if he can take them all as seriously as he took his summer English class (making an A) - he will have no problem at all succeeding. He looks forward to being able to transfer to Texas State next year so he can be closer to his girlfriend Jenn who is down in San Antonio for a year at UT - she plans on transferring to UT Austin next year. We will see how that all pans out in the future but for now he is settling in to Stephenville. Get ready Mom and Dad he WILL be bringing you his dirty laundry to you as you are the closest (40 min) - I guess your house will be our meeting point.
We finished Ronald's Roadtrip - FINALLY! Today Carrie and her kids along with Matt's new girlfriend Amy's kids Lexi and Madison and Brooklyn and myself all met at the Space Exploration and it was all but "out of this world" - heehee. It was a huge playground but other than that nothing more special than any of the other ones - the kids had a good time though. So we have one more stop at McDonalds that's to redeem our prize - 2 free Happy Meals, a Premium Salad and an Iced Coffee (to give the kids energy) and then we will chose a new restuarant of choice with a playground for a while. No more McDonald's blogs - sorry!

Ok I don't know what it is that's going on here in McKinney but I feels like a Lake Placid only with frogs instead of alligators. There is a nice little pond across the street with a waterfall and everything - beautiful - I thought it would be great scenery to have across from us but I am beginning to wonder now. Today I was out pulling weeds and Brooklyn was
playing by the front door and all of a sudden a BLOOD
CURDLING scream - I run over and grab her and she is absolutly freaking out and
that's when I see it jump in the bushes. I grab her and run inside peeking around the corner I realize it is the BIGGEST FREAKING FROG I have ever seen I mean literally the size of a small C
hihuahua. And when this thing hopped it went 2 to 3 feet with each hop - no wonder she was so upset. Poor Brookie it took me 5 minutes to calm her down she was so shaken with tears just rolling. After I did I grabbed my camera and we went after it - her right behind me and me telling her the whole time it's just a frog. By the end she was asking "where is my baby frog?" - that thing is anything but a baby. Our yard has gotten so scary from rabbits lurking in the shadows to the dead skunk Rocky killed in the backyard last week (and no I don't think he got sprayed by miracle he didn't smell) to the snake Melissa and David found at our front door one day when they came over - I am scared to go outside - what next?
This is what they looked like in June - is this the Momma looking for her babies?

We are in week 2 of our cake class and the project of the day was clowns. This was a fun one to make - we have also been working on roses - not so much fun for me and the thing is that our graduation cake has roses on top . I am just not good at them - uh oh - will I make it to course two?
Today was a busy Friday - Melissa was off of work so we decided we were having a mom's day - it was supposed to start at story time at the library (but I got there to find an empty parking lot which told me there was no story time - usually the parking lot is a mad house) so we transferred our fun to the mall play land and lunch in the food court. I think kids think that if you have lunch in the food court you get a free ride on the carousel because Noah was all over that. I have never taken Brooklyn on it but I think we just started something - she loved it (not to sure at first but loved it in the end) - she is so cute, Bailey went on it with her and was required to stand right beside her. Even Isabella took a horse.

From there we headed to the fish store to get a gift for my dad for his birthday that night. For some reason his fish keep dying off and saltwater is not cheap so when we set ours up we found out that it is very important to keep your tank a certain tempature so not to stress the fish out and the more live rock you have the better off you system will run therefore, me and my sister decided to get my dad some live rock (he has everything so it's hard to think of gift ideas) - it's not cheap so we got him 4 big pieces in a styrofoam cooler - fun huh. Hopefully there will be some cool things that pop up on the rock.

That night we headed to Red Robin in Grapevine and I convinced Melissa and the kids to go with us (David out of town for the weekend) - and she practically has the kids calling my parents grandma and grandpa (which they love - the more the merrier right?). This is where we met Matt's new love interest (they have been dating for about a month) - super cute girl and she has two kids one of which came with her - cute little girl too. Blane gave him the thumbs up as did the rest of us. This is also where Carrie and I debuted our infamous rainbow cakes and they were a big hit - very moist and yummy frosting. Dad thought it would be funny to put a little on the kids noses so it started something and before it was all said and done they all had it on their faces - cute dad. I don't think he ever picked which one he liked best out loud - but I know it was MINE - sorry Carrie - you can try again Monday night - heehee!
