So today we had a testosterone throw down - My brother and my husband - both Scott's decided while we were at the mall that they were going to do the rock climbing wall in Dick's to see who could do it faster. Of course my Scott has never tried it before and my brother used to work where they had a climbing wall so he quickly chose the easier climb and left my Scott with the harder of the two - what a WHIMP! Bailey did the easy climb at the same time they went and SMOKED them both. Needless to say my husband never made it to the top - he said he couldnt even get a grip and the pegs were so small he couldnt even step on them - oh well better luck next time honey! As for you Scott Jones - Bailey still showed you up - but I am impressed you got over the hump.

Scott Beverly lags behind - while Scott Jones and Bailey truck it on up!

There's the hump and Scott jones makes it over - no hump for Bailey

Scott Beverly still trying at the bottom - sorry babe you can't be GREAT at everything - we FINALLY found your weakness.
DINOSAURS
ALIVE!
Mom had to leave on Thursday to go to Florida to stay with Rick's kids while they were out of town so Scott and Sam decided to come spend a couple of nights at our house. Friday night we just hung out at home (the Beverly Movie Grill) and had hamburgers grilled by Scott B. - they were really good and then took in a movie in the theatre room - Sex in the City - it was an OK movie - not as great as I thought it would be there were lots of naked bums. Then on Saturday we headed over to see the animatronic dinosaurs at the Heard Natural Museum in McKinney - VERY expensive for what we got - nothing special and it's not much of a museum - it was really a nature walk with some large dinosaurs along the way - and unfortunately it was 90 degrees out and poor Samantha at 7 months pregnant must have been hating me by the end of the trail - sorry guys I thought it was inside! The kids seemed to kind of like them - well maybe not but at least they were all together for a change with out the chaos of Christmas. After that torture we had lunch at Culvers' - the butter burgers they are famous for were so so (I think my arteries are still clogged) but the chocolate milk shake was really yummy! We had a good visit with them - I wish they would hurry up and move to Texas - we could do fun stuff like this all the time - heehee. Just Kidding - I promise next time - I will have a better line up of things to do.

Lincoln - I dont think Dinosaurs eat rocks!
When we passed the Trex we had to tiptoe past him so Brooklyn wouldn't be scared because that's what Dora does when she sees the Trex - cute horns Bailey!
Brooklyn wasn't to happy about being the pearl in the clam
Scott and Samantha and the boys are in town for the week so Mom and Dad brought them out to the Dallas Arboretum to go to the Tuesdays for Tots with Carrie and I - it's always fun for them to get together but today was a little hot - October may actually be better and they didn't completely have it all set up yet but it was nice. We did hit the Face Painting - first of course (line gets super long if you wait) and then the Petting Zoo - Pumpkin Patch - Kindermusik - Frog Fountains and last but not least the Cowboy Land (also still in the works). After the Arboretum we headed for Fuddruckers the best part of the afternoon - who doesn't love a high priced hamburger.
A Kitty Cat in the Making - like on her shirt!
The woman who does the face painting is AMAZING - she does it in no time flat and it is so detailed and perfect - and she has a way with shy kids like Brooklyn - they feel right at home. Except Lincoln and Kaden said No Thank You - they opted for pumpkins on their arms instead.
Maybe Next Time.
My Little Miss Kitty!
Sam got a Puppy Dog like his shirt and Presley got a Princess Face
Today we went over to the Perez's for Isabella's first birthday party - Hello Kitty style. It was a quaint little party consisting of our family and Carrie and the kids - but the kids had a great time playing and helping with the frosting on her smash cake - it was so cute to watch all of them share - and of course they were on a serious sugar high afterwards.
She is such a little cutie!

And of course I made her cakes!

This was my practice Hello Kitty cake before I made the real one - like I said we have cake up to our eyeballs. But Practice makes Perfect right? The word Isabella is off center and only two whiskers on one side and her face is crooked - I know Carrie pointed out all the flaws - Thanks Carrie! Other than that it was ok to proceed to the real one.

DOROTHY WHISLER
1924 - 2008
This morning at 6am my grandma passed away at the age of 83 years - she had a case of pnemonia which she couldn't completely fight off and left her with no strength to fight any longer. It is so hard to believe that she is gone, we are all going to truly miss her - especially my grandpa Harry Whisler (grampsie). They had been married for 66 years and I only hope that my marriage is half as good as theirs - they had more love for each other than you could ever have imagined - so caring and genuine. I have always been very close to them both and loved her dearly. I remember when I was a little girl I ALWAYS had to sit by her at the dinner table and what fun we always had visiting grandma and grandpa's house on 84 Baker Road in Midland, Michigan. Therefore, I was so glad when they chose to come live in Granbury, Texas close to my parents so that my children could have a chance to really know and love them like we do.
I am going to miss her - love you grandma!
