AND A DANCING WE WILL NOT BE DOING

Today was Presley's 5th birthday party. She had it at a really cute little dance studio which had Brooklyn SO excited - UNTIL.......we got there. We had even bought a pair of ballet slippers for her to wear. She was not so much in to the dancing part of the party - I did get her to do a few runs around the room but for the most part she just stood in one place and observed all the other girls. She is just like me - not a dancer and a people watcher. It was a Disney princess party so Carrie made an Ariel (the little mermaid) cake which was really cute and had a big story behind it (Sam put his hand through the front of it that morning - you wouldn't have known though - she had it all fixed up) - cake time was Brooklyn's favorite part of the party.
after all the best part of a party is cake time and present time

BLANE HAS A NEW BEST FRIEND

Blane decided that he needed something to take care of, so.....this is what he came up with - a FREAKIN PYTHON. He brought it home for the weekend - yeah me. So now I am worried that the dorm is going to find out that he has it and we will end up with it full time. Brooklyn really seemed ok with it - she even touched it. She told Blane "that's a pretty snake - Bo the snake is pretty". So now it has a name - BO!

CAKE OF THE WEEK - LIGHTNING MCQUEEN!

My cake of the week goes to Jessica (Carrie's friend) for her son's 4th birthday. I must be getting better - I still freak out every time I have to make a cake worrying about if it will turn out - but some how I seem to pull it off every time. My next adventures are Hannah Montana and a baby girl shower cake to feed 80 people.

I can check off Cars cake - one under my belt!

I HEART YOU - KEES KEES KEES!

It's Valentine's Day and depending on the day there are different amounts of love going around our house - today WAS a good day so there was lots of love. Me and Kamdon started the day with a trip to the orthodontist while Scott mowed - how romantic! But when we got home it was gift time (even though we had agreed we weren't doing gifts). The older kids all got a small box of chocolates with a card filled with money and a helium balloon. Brooklyn got a little basket with some goodies coloring book, necklace, glitter lotion, a baby pony and some Hello Kitty panties. Scott got a StarBucks basket with a gift card and a magnet snow globe (he LOVES snow globes and StarBucks) and I got a book "The Host" by Stephanie Meyer (author of the Twilight series) a box of chocolates and a gift card to Target. I would have rather gotten a suprise ticket to Hawaii ( he is going again in 2 weeks for 9 days), that's what Brooklyn wanted too but I guess Target will do. We will save Hawaii for July again.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

BLANE TURNS 19!

WOW - 19 years! So what does that make me - just OLD? What to do - what to do - I didn't even know what to do for his birthday seeing I can't even get him to stay at home for more than 30 minutes at a time. He was here all weekend and showed up Sunday morning for his cake, gifts, and lunch at On the Border with me, Scott, Brooklyn and his friends of course - then back to school before 2 pm. I had a really hard time coming up with a cake idea - so after searching the internet I borrowed this one and upon completion it was only about half as good as the one online. But the idea was funny and with me topping it off with a likeness of his new tattoo it made it extra special - not one of my best pieces but he liked it. I sent it back to school with him so let me know anyone if you see it along the side of the road anywhere between McKinney and Stephenville. Brooklyn was very excited about "Blane's birthday party" - she kept asking me what she was going to wear. After lunch I had to explain to her that he was to old for a Tinkerbell party. She told me she wanted to stay small forever - I prefer that too. However, she did enjoy hanging with Blane today at "his party" and helping him open his gift (which was 2 t-shirts from Express and some $cash$ - his favorite). I do have to say that I am truly proud of what an amazing adult that he is becoming - I have raised a great person. I love ya Blane.

My oldest and youngest babies - so cute

And the cake - dun ta dun! (check out the tattoo on her back - Blane's woman)

A TRINKET BOX FOR HER TREASURES!

The Home Depot project of the month was a "velvet" lined heart trinket box for Valentine's Day! Wyatt had to skip this month but Brooklyn and Noah had a great time "watching their parents" make their boxes - heehee. Scott did let her glue on the heart. After we made our "special boxes" we went with the Perez family to IKEA - they wanted to look around - we ended up staying there for 2 1/2 hours which included lunch in the cafeteria upstairs. Melissa said she goes there all the time for lunch during the week - she cracks me up - they do know all the hot spots.

BLANE GETS MARKED - SO WE DON'T FORGET HIS NAME

Blane decided that he was ready for a tattoo like all of his other friends - I think it is the thing to do in college (I don't know I never went - maybe that's why i don't have one). All I can say is that at least he put it in a place that can be covered and it isn't anything that would embarrass me. The only problem is that he loves it so much now he is already talking about "the next time he gets one" - he is trying to get Scott to get one saying he will go with him. Crazy kid. And as if the tat wasn't enough he got his ears pierced again. He is turning in to my little thug (JK - love ya Blane).
Finished - tattoo and earrings! Oh to be young and care free again.

PITTSBURGH STEELERS WIN!

This year SuperBowl was quiet, in a sense - small crowd. Although the kids and the TV were soooo loud. No big party like last year so we went over to Melissa and David's house along with Carrie and Brad. Pittsburgh Steelers won against the Arizona Cardinals in the last 35 seconds 27 to 23. Boring game until the last quarter. We had a good time hanging out and the kids had a great time as usual. Melissa made yummy concession stand nachos with jalapenos and bacon wrapped water chestnuts and I made my SuperBowl cake of course (any reason to make one). Noah deemed it as a birthday cake putting candles in it so we sang Happy Birthday to Presley since hers is the next one up. She was a bit confused as to why she got a football cake and there were no presents. Hopefully next year the Cowboys can get their act together and find themselves a spot in the 44th SuperBowl it makes SuperBowl time much more fun. No more football for a while Thank Goodness! - frees up some Sundays to do other things.

I all turned out good until I tried to do the white part of the footbal and I did it 3 times - I just couldn't get it to look right - Brooklyn called it a "Football Mountain"
