PROJECT OF THE WEEK

The Before....

The After

I guess all of our practice at Home Depot has paid off - this weekend I recovered the pool table that Melissa and David gave us all by myself. I have to say it looks pretty good (for an ametuer anyway). While I was doing that Scott hung the TV that I got him for his birthday on a swing arm over the table in the gameroom. So now we are ready for a party - who is game (get it - heehee)?

BEAUTIFUL!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEFF!

We finally have a cousin semi close to where we live - yeah! Jeff Steinke and his girlfriend Rachel and baby Acelynn moved to Whicita Falls. Tomorrow is Jeff's birthday so my Aunt Pat asked if I would make him a cake - and what did I say? OF COURSE I will make him a cake. We invited them for dinner which they actually came over really early so we had more of a lunch, but it was nice to catch up with them and see the baby who is absouletly precious! They also brought their dog, a female Husky that looked like a mini Rocky. Brooklyn chased her all over the backyard -calling her little Rocky. We look forward to seeing them more often than we did growing up.

Since they are new to Texas I decided to make him a Texas themed cake.

CAKES OF THE WEEK...

SCOTT'S BIRTHDAY CAKE - HE WANTED THE TRIP TO THE CASINO TO GO WITH IT - TOO BAD I DIDN'T MAKE ENOUGH OFF THE OTHER CAKES
The other three were cakes that I made for $$$ - yeah classes finally starting to pay off!

SCOTT'S 36TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS

We had a pretty fun birthday weekend, it started with....

Scott's birthday gift to himself - an upgrade on the ole Mercedes Benz (I wanted another black one - but he loves this color and I guess he is the one that drives it)
SATURDAY - COACH JOE'S

Then Saturday night we along with Melissa & David and Sara & Scott went out to dinner at The Cheesecake Factory (one of his favorites) - then we headed over to Coach Joe's to see the Bon Jovi tribute band call Blaze of Glory - they were pretty good and Melissa and Scott both LOVED Bon Jovi. I have never seen them get so into a night out - they all had a great time dancing (not me - I have no rhythm - but David and I had fun watching them - I guess he doesn't dance either). Sara and Scott got dragged out on the dance floor by this very aggressive drunk girl a few times - it was pretty funny.

the guys and the girls

Melissa wanted to know why David licks her in every picture

hand signal of the night - it means "Bon Jovi ROCKS"
SUNDAY (his birthday)

Then on Sunday everyone came over for a fajita cook out and some cake and Carrie's awesome cake balls (which I am going to learn to make and add to my website - they would be a great seller) - then Scott opened his gifts from us - we got him some work pants, an Ipod charging dock, a 32" TV for the gameroom and a starter kit for the pool table with all new cues, chalk, brush, rule book, etc.. (Melissa and David gave us the table and it had blue felt so to make it match I had to order new red felt). So once we get the TV up and the table all put together - it should be a fun room for him and his buddies.

Blane
Kamdon
Bailey
Brooklyn

Jessica

Then out to "the resort" for a really good ham dinner and and we followed that up with an Egg Hunt for the kids (as if they hadn't all done enough hunts for one year) - oh well they seem to love each one just as much as the last.

Kids going crazy...Bailey showing Brookie the hidden spots...Bailey and Brooke

Dad and McKayla...Melody and Mark...Matt and Amy
Me, Brooke, Carrie and Sam...Grandpa, Mark and Matt...Sofia and Presley
AND THEN....THE FUN BEGAN
Mark got out the fishing poles and the kids heade to the deck (makes me a nervous wreck - half of them not in life jackets) - but the fish WERE biting

Who's is the biggest - they all must be 10lbs right? Heehee NOT?!
Madison...Bailey...allthe girls - even Brooklyn got to go down for a bit
Lexi...some of the guys
It was a nice Easter - all the kids had a BLAST! We missed Rick and Scott's families though - maybe next year.
