CAKE OF THE WEEK - HOOTERS HOOTERS HOOTERS!

Someone ordered this cake for a guy named Jay's birthday - he loves Hooters - they special ordered the girl popping out of the top to have red hair (not sure on that one) but he also loves making his own pizza so she was to be holding a pepperoni pizza. The cake is Snickerdoodle with vanilla pudding center and cinnamon buttercream icing in ORANGE.
She even got a tramp stamp - heehee (not ordered - just because)

DAD'S 63RD BIRTHDAY - OH MY!

Dad's birthday cake

Since mom is headed off on another girls wild ride trip we decided to all get together early and celebrate dad's 63rd birthday. We grilled fajitas at my house and they were soooo yummy. Unfortunately Scott was out of town so dad had to do his own grilling - Mark was supposed to but he was taking to long getting over. We all had a good time hanging out especially the kids. Mom got him a Kindle (to download books on to), Carrie & Brad got him a GC to Amazon to get some downloads, Mark & Melody got him a fishing pole (oops that was supposed to be for Father's Day) and a $25 GC to the movie theatre, and Scott and I got him a $50 GC to Westridge golf course - so maybe Scott and dad can play and talk business which they both like to do but don't get enough chances to do lately.
And of course because Meloday's birthday was on the 19th and she loves cake so much I had to make her one of her own - and dad's wasn't chocolate

MY SON THE RAPPER - WATCH OUT AMERICA HE'S THE NEXT EMINEM

Blane has always liked rap music and has now decided that he wants to write the lyrics and record his own music. So far he seems to be doing a good job at it - he has many fans on my space and seems to have MANY new friends since he got all new equipment to record with. I don't keep up with the music as the material is not what a mom wants to hear coming from her son but I will always be supportive as long as school comes first.

DORA LIVE!

We LOVE Dora at our house so of course when "DORA LIVE" came to town we HAD to go see it. Originally I thought Scott was going to be out of town so we made it into a girls thing - he ended up being in town but chose not to tag along. Carrie and her kids, Becky and her girls and Amy (who was in town visiting Carrie from Ohio) and me and Brooklyn all went. Our seats weren't great but the kids had fun anyway. They were all up dancing, singing, waving their stars and screaming "SWIPER NO SWIPING". It was alot of fun for them although if we ever go again I want to be down on the floor where you can see.

Even baby Bronson went at 10 days old...........Nice bubbles Brooklyn

SOME OF MY RECENT CAKES

I did two of these - they were smash cakes for two 1year olds Ava and Mya - they remind me of Minnie Mouse

McKayla's birthday cake - wasn't my best but made a 3 year old happy

Carrie's friend Amy from Ohio came in town to see the baby and to help out although Carrie is pretty self sufficient - anyway she asked me on facebook if I was going to make her cake when she got here so I cooked dinner for them and had this little 6" waiting for her. I love how the reflection of her name shows on the cake - funny!

GOING BONKERS..........BONK!

Today was Sam's third birthday and since Carrie has baby Bronson and he is only a week old she opted to wait a bit for his party. she wanted to do something fun for him so Going Bonkers it was. We have never been and it was fun AND cheap. The building is filled with these net mazes to climb up through and it's even made so that mom's and dad's can climb through. And this mom did. We spent about 3 hours there and then headed over to Carrie's for pizza and an ice cream cake (I know can you believe Carrie didn't MAKE him a cake?) I think they had the most fun at the water fountain - everytime they came down they got a drink and got drenched (that's not drool on Brooklyn's shirt). She sure does love hanging with her cousins.

MY ASPIRING MUSICIAN - BLANE HAS SELF TAUGHT

Blane has been dabbling in writing his own music - and publishing it on My Space. Most of it is not clean enough for a mom to listen to but I am proud of the fact that he has taught himself how to do it all. And most of all he is so handsome for a thug wanna be.

SWEET BABY (BOY - HEEHEE) BRONSON JAMES ARRIVES WITH A GRAND ENTRANCE

The full moon always seems to bring on the strangest things - and I had a feeling it was going to be what provoked labor with Carrie. I was right she called me in the middle of the night saying "sorry I am a night time deliverer". Ok so I took my time getting up knowing she has long deliveries (well most of the time she does). As I was walking out the door my mom called and told me she had already had "HIM". Bronson James Martone decided he was going to be different - he made his grand entrance into this world after about 2 hours of labor in their front yard in an ambulance with a team of EMTs. Such a cool entrance story. He weighed exactly 7lbs and is super super cute. I know she wanted a girl but even I fell instantly in love with him - so I know she did too. He is perfect. Now I DEFINATELY need one.

THE DELIVERY TEAM - Good job guys
On top of everything else he has a cool birthday 7-8-09

SPLAT - I THINK I HAVE BEEN HIT!

PAINT CHECK!

Rick and Scott Jones together = PAIN! They always opt for the very extreme activities and this was one we were not going to miss out on. We paintballed and had fun doing it. I have to say the first time I got hit I was almost done, I took two in my rib cage and ouch. Then I got strategic and just found a place to hide and bunkered down and shot like crazy. I was not the one moving up on the opponent - but it kept me from taking anymore painful shots. After about 6 games Scott and I were done - I can't tell you the last time I sweat that much. We will definately be going back for more of that - maybe for Kamdon's birthday (although we would have to wait until it gets a little cooler) - we went on the perfect day it was overcast and a few spinkles of rain - enough to make it bearable.

Some of our war wounds - Rick even took one in the neck - OUCH!
