Kamdon's birthday always seems to sneak up on us seeing it is right before school starts. This year instead of a party (he never wants a party) he wanted to go paintballing since he missed out when we went back in July - unfortunately not in August, way too hot - maybe October. So on his birthday mom came out to McKinney and we took a very small crowd out to dinner at BJ's (YUMMMMM!). Scott was flying in from Florida and was supposed to meet us there but due to delays with his flight he showed up right as we were leaving. He was convinced that his gift was just a pair of jeans and it was pleasantly suprised when it was a black Nike golf shirt with $100 bill on top as well as the golf balls he wanted. No car Sorry Kam! He still hasn't taken driver's training so wasn't able to get his liscence either - bummer. Mom and Dad gave him cash as well as Scott's parents, so by the end he had quite the stash. We were supposed to celebrate on the cruise seeing his birthday was on the day we were to be at sea, but due to the complications with Randall's surgery we had to cancel our cruise, maybe next year. I think he was ok with it all - birthdays don't have all they hype the older you get turns into more of just give me my money - heehee. When we go do the paintball wars we will make a cake and have a mini party then.
I cant believe he is already 16 it seems like yesterday when he was a bleach blonde curly haired baby that just rolled around the floor because he refused to sit or crawl or walk. He sure is a sweet young man though.
HAPPY 16th BIRTHDAY KAMDON!
My long time friend (from Magnum Hunter) had a pool party to celebrate her birthday - I think it was her 41st but she said 39th. I haven't seen her in a while so Scott and I decided to drop by for a little bit. Brooklyn loves to swim and we had Jessica with us and she really loves to swim. It turned out to be a pretty good time even though we only knew Kent and Serene and my old boss of Magnum Hunter was there with his new little daughter. We stayed for a few hours and I learned a new cake trick - how to make water - Yeah!

My friend Serene - what a fun person to be around - she is so full of life!
"HAPPY 39th BIRTHDAY!"
A Birthday cake I made for a friend from high school - I am getting faster, this one only took me about two hours to decorate - does it look like it?
A wedding cake I made for Pam (an assistant at Scott's office - her daughter was getting married) - they were driving to Austin (I hope it made it) - This cake took me FOREVER - I finally finished at 3:30 am - went to bed laid there for about 20 minutes and realized I HATED the cake - so I got up trashed it and started over. The second go around turned out better but still not even close to being good enough for me. I don't think I am ready for wedding cakes - too much pressure.
Brooklyn got to experience The Melting Pot - we decided that we needed a date night. Unfortunately the first reservation available was 8:45 pm (we actually didn't get seated until about 9:20 pm) so by time we got our salads (course 2) Brooklyn was done and kept saying "Can we go home?" So we had the main course and ended up skipping desert - bummer! It was still a lot of fun and oh so YUMMY! I think I could just do pot after pot of cheese. So next time we aill aim for a little earlier and it will be perfect.
