CAKE OF THE WEEK - CHUGGA CHUGGA CHOO CHOO

This cake ranks up there in the hardest cakes I've done catagory, but I think it turned out ok.

This cake was so cute - and then she picked it up.  I watched her carry it to the car and hand it to a kid (around 10 years old) - UGGGHHHH!  About 20 minutes later I get the call - the cake split in half on the way home.  Of course it did.  Luckily her party wasnt until the next morning so I had her bring it back to me.  Couldn't tell if it was kid damaged or if the base just split because the strawberry cake was too I moist.  I redid it for her in a white cake (tinted pink) instead of the strawberry cake and hand delivered it to her the next morning.  I think the second one turned out way cuter.  Note to self:  if you ever see anyone hand it to a kid again - warn them that it wont be a free redo if it gets messed up.

SAM TURNS 4 - ARGGGHHH MATEY!

Pirate party - I LOVE pirate parties.  I was so disappointed when Carrie didnt let me make Sam's pirate cake, however I have to say she did a pretty good job (for an ametuer that is).  She did the party during the day and it was mostly kids from preschool but that had a blast.  First they did a canon ball toss - object was for the girls to get all their red balls on the boys side and boys were to get all of their black canons on the girls side.  Sam just wanted to pop the canons because he knew there was candy in them - heehee - gotta love that kid.  Then she did snack bags with goldfish, fruit snacks and pretzels. Then cake and then she sent them all sugared up to walk the plank and go on home!

A Dora cake for McKayla's 4th birthday

Emily Lombard and her family were in town visiting so since she just graduated Medical School I made her this cake when they all came over for dinner - thought it was pretty cute and didnt know when I would ever have a chance to make it again.

BROOKLYN'S DAMASK PHOTO SHOOT!

SHE IS SOOOOOOO BEAUTIFUL!  We never had 4 year old pictures done so when I saw Studio One to One was doing this background - I had to have them.  Carrie's friend Becky is going to do pictures of her soon but I really wanted this background so we got a few done.  When I first saw them I couldn't believe how grown up she looked.  Everyone on Facebook said she was a mini-me.
