Brooklyn and the Easter Bunny (of the day)
On the way to the park...the balloon bunny...Isabella did not like her
Melissa and David invited us to their neighborhood Easter Event - and what a beautiful day to be outside. It started out with a HUGE egg hunt followed by face painting, bounce houses and balloon art. This is the first of many hunts we have on our schedule.
I finally have a website set up. Scott did a great job and is still working on the flash effects but thus far it looks WONDERFUL! I am so appreciative of the time he has put in to getting it going. When I am rich and famous I wont forget him as one of the little people - heehee. So everyone check it out and send me anyone you know who may need a cake.
Gabby Emailed me the day after the baby shower saying she already needed another cake for her friends birthday - so here it is. The picture she chose had the leopard spots air-brushed on - I tried to use the spray coloring that you can buy at Michaels but it is just to thin and runs so I had to impovise and use fondant circles for the spots. It turned out pretty good but I guess my next cake adventure is the classes to learn air-brushing - I also want to learn how to blow sugar. Samantha already took the air-brushing classes and said it was pretty fun - I wish she would move here and then we could buy a sprayer together and share it since they a little pricey - hopefully soon.
My family went to see the Icredibles on Ice back at Thanksgiving, since we were out of town we missed it and everyone had such a good time. This time I had to make sure we were in on the fun. It was all girls EXEPT Sam. I picked up Melody and her crew and the whole way there they were all talking about skating - I don't think they understood that they weren't going to be the ones skating. Melody had said that none of them wanted to go - but once the show started they all had a whole different mind set. Sofia was jumping around saying "this is the best day ever". Brooklyn sat on my lap and she was dancing too. It was so cute. So when I thought $7.50 a ticket this is a fun cheap thing to do well......that was UNTIL intermission then came the $10.00 cotton candy (you did get a Flounder hat with it) and the $10.00 snowcone (you did get a mug with it - we chose Minnie Mouse) and pizza and drinks and WOW cheap thing to do just got REAL expensive. But it was fun we all had a really good time. This show included Little Mermaid, Peter Pan, Lilo & Stitch, and of course Mickey, Minnie & Friends.

Lots of birthdays in March.
I had a very AMETUER week - I wasn't thrilled with any of the three cakes I made. Everything started out well on Thursday when I baked all the cakes but when I went to decorate them on Friday (the 13th - should have known better) I had a really tough time. I ran out of fondant (had I not I would have recovered the dice - I didn't like the way they turned out) and I didn't have enough to do the shoebox lid properly and had I had more pink I would have redone the bow (bad job). I am my own worst critic I guess and I have to remember that any of these are better than the sheet cake from the local grocery store - right? Scott and I are working on a website - I think we are sticking with the name A cake I will make - we will see - watch for the link.
A golf cake for Scott Wescoat
This one can definately go down as a "Cake Wreck" - Scott pointed out that I spelt Four wrong - oops! - it's supposed to be
FORE!

A shoebox with a mini high heeled shoe
I only have one for next weekend - a small Leopard print round with a hot pink bow - should be fairly easy and I will have lots of time to concentrate on it to make it PERFECT!
Scott has been in Hawaii on business (tough life huh?) for the last nine days. Brooklyn REALLY misses him when he is gone but REALLY benefits when he comes home. First he came in with a "great super surprise" - the Barbie that comes with the puppies that you get dirty in cold water and clean in warm water (a great toy that makes a mess for mommy). She was so excited - I dont know if more to see Scott or more for her prize. Then for lunch we took her to Peter Piper's Pizza and ate and played games. There was no one there so we had free rein of the place. And best of all that night she got some snuggle time in - which is what she misses the most. Mommy is still waiting her turn to get some snuggle time in.
Today we went to Main Event for some pizza and bowling to celebrate Brianna and Elizabeth's 9th birthdays. Talk about some serious chaos - that's what that party was - there were soooo many kids running around. Although anyone who knows the Jones family knows that we are all about the chaos - it makes things more fun. Everyone had a great time bowling but I think every kid at some point during the party took their turn crying - we had many grumpies. And then there was cake time (which of course I made the High School Musical cake) which seemed to be the favorite part of the party and for a moment everyone was happy.
