SO - I have been cutting coupons and shopping all three grocery stores making my weekly list to save some money and I have to say it WORKS! Our pantry is stocked more than I have ever had it. Scott thinks I need a "HOBBY" because I know the prices of everything around town - well what can I say I am trying to do my part to reduce cost in this recession. Today I think I did REALLY well at the store.
Ok so that was 5 - 12pks of coke products, 7 boxes of Kelloggs cereal, 9 boxes of fruit snacks, 8 pack of paper towels, 12 packs of toilet paper, 4 packs of goldfish, Llyods barbeque beef, 2 jars of ragu, potatoe fixins, 2 coffee mate, 2 sunny D, 2 2 liter of store brand sprite, 3 cans of frosting (I know I usually make my own but this is for cake balls), 4 cans ragu, gallon of milk, 2 bottles of barbque sauce, kraft cheese slices, full size bag of cheetos, bag of kettle chips (salt and vinegar - my favorite), 12 ils of hamburger meat (broke it down in to 8 meal portions), a HUGE brisket, 12 lbs of steak (and they were THICK and JUICY)(the meat wasn't clearance meat either it was fresh), 2 packages of hot dogs, 2 cans of shaving cream, 5 boxes of poptarts, some Pam cooking spray, 2 packages of paper plates, and a bag of Funyuns to tie Brooklyn over for lunch (which she finally got around 2pm). And I got a raincheck for a 4 pack of potatoes for free which they were out of. All this for the amazing price of $113.58 - should have been $299.97 - but by shopping the sales and using coupons I saved $186.39. I saved more than I spent - that's AMAZING! Next stop for the week Target to get the deep freeze that they have on sale - need more room for frozen stuff.
So is this adequate Mormon standard food storage?
