Carrie and I have decided (after seeing Samantha's awesome cakes) that we could do it to! We signed up at Michaels for the first of 5 courses and so far it is a lot of fun. I am not domesticated at all when it comes to baking or cooking but I am pretty anal when it comes to making something look good so I am thinking I should be ok at it. We have had 2 of the 4 classes in this course and tonight we decorated our first cake. After the first night we were instructed to make all of our own frosting as well as a cake and frost it at home to bring to the second class so we could learn our first technique - stars. When I saw the cake we were going to make my first thought was NO WAY! - even Scott said good luck with that it looks hard - but I have to say in the end I was pretty proud of my first ever vanilla cake (with chocolate pudding filling) iced in buttercream decorated with a rainbow. We are having dinner Friday night for dad's birthday and Carrie and I are both taking our cakes for the official taste test. And Bailey (as much as she loves to cook) helped with the cake filling and she made all 40 of our frosting cones - good job Bay!

We were starting to question our abilities (not mine really But Carrie's) but by the end of the day we had both pulled off the task (I forgot the blue coloring in my frosting and Carrie had some cake mixed in with her frosting) but for the most part they looked good.

Who would have thought you would need so many items to make a cake?

Good Job! I know that I don't have the patients for that. Can't wait to see what else you will learn. And you beat Carrie on posting about it, hehe.
Great job girl! The cake looked great. I think taking a cake decorating class would be so fun. I attempted to decorate Adam's birthday cake this year. I'm going to attach a picture if I can. If it doesn't come across I email it to you. Have a great day. Cassie
